Research and Planning: Audience interview analysis (Music magazine)

I asked a person who is a similar age to the age range I am aiming my magazine to. I asked the person the following questions about my magazine. The questions are on the image on the left of the blog. The answers the person gave me will help me produce my magazine.

The first question I asked was 'can you name any artists that are associated with R&B and Rap?', The answer the person gave me was Jay-Z, Kanye West and Rihanna. This will help me because I will know which artists I need to include on my cover lines for the front cover.

The second question I asked was 'which three colours would you associate with R&B and Rap?' this will give me an idea of what the colour scheme would be for my magazine. The person told me that black, white and gold are all associated with this genre of music. I may not use this colour scheme but it might help me to decided which colours I would like to use on my magazine.

The third question I asked was 'do you buy music magazines regularly?'. The answer the person gave me was no. This tells me that not everyone buys music magazines even if they are interested in that genre of music.

The fourth question I asked was 'what cover lines/stories would you like to read about in an R&B/Rap genre magazine?'. The answer he gave was interviews need to be included, the latest gigs in the local area and maybe a chart which would include the latest music to be associated with this genre of music.

The fifth question I asked was 'do you like the masthead name Authority for a music magazine?'. The answer the person gave was yes. This implies that I should stick to the name Authority of my music magazine.

The sixth question I asked was 'should the model of the magazine cover be male or female?'. The answer the person gave was male, therefore I am making the model of my magazine male.

The seventh question I asked was 'what should the image look like for a music magazine?'. The answer he gave was that the model needs to have a serious face and to wear clothes like tank tops. When I come to take pictures of my model I would need to make them look close to what the person has said.

The last question I asked was 'what is the first thing you look for in a music magazine?'. He said that he looks for a good cover line that would persuade him to read the magazine. This means that when I come to produce my music magazine I need to have an interesting cover line to persuade people to want to read my magazine but the cover line still needs reference to the genre of music which i have chosen.
